ISPAR DATA INITIATIVE
The ISPAR Data and Research group have collaborated to produce a data workbook collated from experienced perioperative allergy services in Europe and Australia. The first stage of this project is to share a common data workbook. To support global perioperative allergy care, ISPAR’s Database Working Group has created a standardized Excel dataset template for documenting perioperative hypersensitivity cases. While not a global database, we offer this framework for individual centres to adopt and customize. This promotes consistent documentation standards across institutions, laying the groundwork for future collaborative research and ultimately improving patient safety worldwide.
Details
The Excel template is intended to be adaptable to regional practices, languages, and cultural contexts while maintaining core standardized elements that enable global data comparison for multi-center research.
We’ve included pre-formatted variable/field names in the left column for research-oriented facilities, allowing seamless import into clinical database platforms like REDCap. This design makes the template immediately useful while supporting more sophisticated data management as centres develop their capabilities.
The comprehensive workbook contains two primary sections: one capturing essential referral information (Anesthesiology and Perioperative data) and another documenting the allergy investigation findings. It’s intended for both established perioperative allergy centers and newly developing services.
