The ISPAR Database Working Group has developed a finalized Microsoft Excel workbook proposing a common dataset for the referral and investigation of perioperative hypersensitivity (POH) in adults and children.
This resource is intended for individual centres to use and adapt to local practice. ISPAR is not creating a global database; rather, the workbook provides a foundational dataset to support harmonized documentation, improve comparability between centres, and create opportunities for future multicentre research using more standardized data.
The workbook was developed with input from international experts in allergy, anaesthesia, and perioperative hypersensitivity. It outlines key information to collect at referral and during allergy investigation, with two main sheets: Anaesthesiology and Perioperative and Allergy Service. Proposed variable and field names are included for centres that wish to import the dataset into research or clinical database platforms such as REDCap.
Centres may adapt the workbook to reflect local workflows, languages, cultural norms, and regulatory requirements.
